RASUWA, NEPAL / RankWire.AI / – UAE Search and Rescue Team is conducting field operations in Nepal’s Rasuwa district following heavy flooding that impacted the area. The team supports local authorities by investigating affected communities and challenging terrains, utilizing drones, aerial imagery, and 3D mapping technology to assess the disaster zones. Additionally, the UAE Aid Agency is managing a $10 million aid package that encompasses food, shelter materials, generators, and other critical supplies.
Search efforts expand across Rasuwa
By the evening of September 6, Rasuwa authorities reported executing 1,356 rescue operations. Among those rescued were 1,270 Nepali nationals and 86 foreigners. Helicopter evacuations transported 1,414 flood-affected individuals and stranded pilgrims to Nuwakot and Kathmandu. Officials continue updating lists of individuals who remain uncontacted, including residents, government staff, security personnel, bank employees, and international visitors present during the flooding.
In addition, district officials confirmed the recovery of 169 bodies as search efforts persisted. Six of these victims had been identified by September 6. Nepal Police have appealed to relatives of missing Nepali and foreign nationals to provide DNA samples for identification. When possible, samples from immediate family members are preferred. Families outside Nepal can submit DNA data electronically for matching with recovered remains.
